Sustainable Packaging Design for a Startup Changing the Game in Tech

sustainable packaging for tech product

We’re excited to share one of our latest projects—a collaboration with the innovative team at Ohdoki, a startup that’s pioneering in tech wellness. It’s not every day you get to design something that’s both sustainable and cutting-edge, like Oh!.

The Backstory

It all started when we met Juwita and the Ohdoki team at CES last year. From that first conversation, we knew this project was going to be different. Ohdoki, based in Norway, is known for pushing boundaries with their products. They’d already made waves with The Handy—an interactive device—and their latest innovation, Oh!, was set to do the same.

The goal? Create packaging that’s more than just a box. It needed to reflect their Scandinavian design ethos, be 100% plastic-free, and most importantly, showcase Oh! as the tech-packed, standout product it is.

The Packaging Challenge

Sustainable packaging is more than just slapping “eco-friendly” on the label. For us, it’s about understanding the full life cycle of materials and ensuring the final product not only looks good but delivers in terms of sustainability and function. Ohdoki had a clear vision: plastic-free, sleek, and innovative.

But it wasn’t just about being sustainable—it was about creating packaging that highlighted Oh!'s cutting-edge technology. This wasn’t your average tech packaging project. We were crafting an unboxing experience that matched the revolutionary product inside.

The Solution

Our team got to work designing a packaging system that hit every note. The result? A completely plastic-free packaging solution made from sustainable materials that carried the sleek, minimalist Scandinavian design ethos throughout.

Here’s what we included in our design and manufacturing deliverables:

  • Outer sleeve: Not only does it secure the box, but it allows for country-specific language, making the product ready for global distribution.

  • Paper product box: Designed to be rigid yet eco-friendly, offering both structure and sustainability.

  • Molded paper pulp tray: Provides secure, sustainable support for the product.

  • Vellum overlay sheet: Adds a premium touch to the unboxing experience.

  • Quick start guide & product safety guide: Clean, clear, and right at your fingertips.

The final packaging reflects Ohdoki’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, while also delivering an engaging unboxing experience—something we take pride in as packaging professionals.

Why Sustainable Packaging Matters

For startups like Ohdoki, every element of the brand matters, including packaging. Consumers today, especially millennials and Gen Z, are demanding more sustainable options, and packaging is no exception. Designing for sustainability doesn’t just reduce environmental impact; it enhances the brand experience and builds trust with customers.

For us, helping brands like Ohdoki achieve their sustainability goals is what makes packaging design exciting. It’s about creating packaging that’s not only functional and eco-friendly but also aligns with the brand’s mission and story.

The Takeaway

Whether you’re working with a tech startup or a creative brand, sustainable packaging doesn’t have to sacrifice style or function. At Logic, we love taking on projects that challenge us to think beyond the box—literally. Collaborating with startups like Ohdoki shows that even in the world of tech packaging, sustainability can go hand-in-hand with innovation.
